BA, MSc, Chartered Counselling Psychologist, C.Couns,Psychol.,Ps.S.I.

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and I am registered with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). I received my Bachelor of Arts (honours degree) in Psychology in 1990 from Allegheny College which is a small bit nationally recognized liberal arts college located in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Shortly after deciding to remain in Ireland after a holiday in 1993 I was accepted into the Masters in Counselling programs in Trinity College, Dublin and in 1995 I was awarded my Masters degree. In 2001, I received training and a certification in domestic violence from the Crisis Centre North in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and I have also received specialized training for the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory – 2 (MMPI-2). In 2016-17 I also participated in the Aurora Women and Leadership program.

Since 1995, my professional work has been quite varied. It has extended from the management of my own private practice in Dublin, to providing training for various professionals groups ranging from teachers, acupuncturists, dentists and nurses to helpline volunteers as well as volunteering as the Media Spokesperson and the Clinical Manager for OCD Ireland. In February 2015 I was the lead professional in the first ever Irish documentary about OCD. It was featured on RTE and it included a segment about OCD Ireland which I helped to start in 2002.

I am an accomplished educator. Over the last 20+ years, I have had the opportunity to lecture at Trinity College, the VEC and UCD and since 2001 I have been lecturing in the Dublin Institute of Technology.
